Resume
Notes on what I do.
I'm Mario, aka Ufobobo. I'm a design engineer based in Tuscany. I don't separate thinking the product from making it — the same hands draw the screen and ship it. These are a few things that are true about how I work, each one backed by something I actually built.
I design and I ship.
Most designers stop at the Figma file. I open Cursor right after. In four weeks on Cantina Clarion, an incident-response and security-monitoring product, I merged 37 PRs as the frontend lead — bootstrapped the design system, built the agent wizard, the alert and incident pages, the onboarding flow, and the dashboard. ~29,000 lines added across 300+ files. Same person designs the screen and writes the component.
I think in systems.
At Cantina I led platform design from inception: onboarding, findings view, code reviewer, the Incident Command system, and the design system holding it all together. On Clarion I extended that into code — semantic color tokens, ShadCN patterns, dark/light mode rules written into AGENTS.md so the whole team writes in the same dialect. Components are not stickers; they're a language a team agrees on.
I own products end to end.
At Soplaya I was the only product designer behind a B2B app used by chefs and restaurants to source from local producers. Two years, one product: vision, flows, screens, iOS and Android, shipped to the stores and into real kitchens.
Brand is part of the product.
A logo is rarely just a mark. The Soplaya wordmark has chefs and producers facing each other inside the letters; the leaves in the o and y stand for sustainability. At Spearbit I refined the identity of a web3 security firm so it looked as precise as the work they do. Brand is the first promise a product makes.
I ship fast, then I polish.
Clarion's onboarding wizard went through six iterations in three days — table layout, animations, tooltips, progress indicators, copy. I'd rather get something real in front of the team Monday and refine it Wednesday than spend a week on a perfect Figma file no one has used. Speed is a design tool.

The stack
Figma every day. Cursor every other line. React, Next.js, Tailwind, ShadCN, Radix, Framer Motion for the things that move. Comfortable down to tRPC and Prisma when the feature needs it. A bit of Three.js when it's warranted. Notion for thinking, paper for thinking twice.
Where to find me
Tuscany, Italy. Remote-first, used to NY hours. Open to design engineer roles.
